Sriracha Fried Brussels Sprouts

Ingredients

  • 4 Cups Vegetable Oil, For Frying
  • 2 Pounds Brussels Sprouts, Dry, Trimmed And Halved At Room Temperature (Not Refrigerated Or Damp)
  • FOR THE HONEY SRIRACHA GLAZE:
  • 1 Tbsp Vegetable Oil
  • 1 Clove Garlic, Minced
  • 1/3 Cup Honey
  • 1 Tbsp Sugar
  • 2 Tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 2 Tbsp Rice Vinegar
  • 2 Tbsp Sriracha Garlic Powder

  1. Heat the Frying Oil

Fill a large deep skillet with vegetable oil. Fit with a thermometer and heat oil to 400°F.
  2. Prepare the Sauce Ingredients

    Meanwhile, make the sauce.
  3. Cook the Sriracha Sauce

In a pan, add vegetable oil and garlic over medium heat. Cook for 1–2 minutes until garlic is barely golden. Add honey and the sugar and then lemon juice and rice vinegar. Whisk together and simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened. Whisk in the sriracha garlic powder and remove from heat.
  4. Fry the Brussels Sprouts

When the oil is 400°F, add half of the Brussels sprouts with the flat side up and turn the heat to high. Fry for about 7 minutes until outer leaves become crisp. Remove them with a slotted spoon and transfer them to a paper-towel-lined sheet tray. Add remaining half of the sprouts to the oil and repeat the process.
  5. Sauce & Serve

Add all the sprouts to a bowl and drizzle with the sauce right before serving hot.
